Facebook has been the success story of the last 10 years and the success of the company and its popularity amongst business people is about to be tested.

Friday 18th May is going to be a big day for Facebook as their shares go on sale but the price of these shares may prove to be a sticky point for many. It is reported that shares will be sold for around £21-23 each which may price out some people. It will begin trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker “FB” and it will be interesting to see the level of interest and who buys them.

Social media has never been the same since the arrival of Facebook in 2004 and this is another sign of the dominance of the social network. With profits of £630million, shares in the company are going to be well worth the investment and there are a number of high profile celebrities, large banks and corporations that are looking to get their share.

As Facebook continues to grow and with people keen to ensure it stays a money making machine, will the usability of the site start to suffer. Time will certainly tell!
